While you cannot upload Excel budgets into Francis, you can easily recreate your financial model there. Leverage the copy-paste features to get started quickly.

Basics

Template vs. new model

First, you must decide whether to leverage the Francis templates or create your own from scratch. We recommend leveraging templates, as all the relevant financial statements will automatically be set up for you, but starting from scratch can also be appropriate if you have a specific structure from Excel that you wish to recreate.

Copy-pasting and recreating formulas

If you wish to migrate formulas from Excel to Francis, you have to recreate the formulas.

You can copy-paste sections if you wish to migrate budget values as hardcoded values. This allows you to get started quickly.
