Formulas

The formula-building experience you are used to from spreadsheets

Syntax

Francis employs a slightly different syntax for cell references than Excel and Google Sheets. In Francis, cell references follow the syntax "RowName"[Period], where the period represents the relative distance from the current cell you are editing.

Expenses are input with a minus (-) prefix to ensure compatibility with data sources, where expenses are imported as negative values.

Drag and drop

Due to the formula syntax in Francis, you can drag and drop spreadsheet components without breaking cell references. In turn, Francis makes it easy to reorganize your financial models.
