# Assumptions and driver-based forecasting

> Use formulas to create driver-based forecasts like in Excel.

## Overview

Because of Francis’ flexibility in creating formulas, you can build driver-based forecasts just as you would in Excel or Sheets.

## Basics

In order to create driver-based forecasts, create references to other cells. We recommend placing your drivers/assumptions in a separate sheet to keep your model organized.
